Entrepreneurship professor joins faith-based business accelerator's board

Dr. Brett Smith, Cintas Chair in Entrepreneurship, has become a member of the board of OCEAN, a faith-based business startup accelerator in Cincinnati.
"I am humbled and honored to serve on the board of OCEAN, who is doing pioneering work at the intersection of faith and entrepreneurship," Smith remarked. He had been an advisor to the OCEAN board for the past three years, and said his election to the board was “a culmination of interaction between Miami University and OCEAN, which has been an incredible partner with the Miami’s Institute of Entrepreneurship over the years.”
Smith is the leading force in the creation of the Leading the Integration of Faith and Entrepreneurship initiative announced at the Farmer School earlier this year. OCEAN is directly aligned with the initiative, and the first research site for it, Smith said.
"We're thrilled to have Brett Smith join the Ocean Programs board. Brett's extensive knowledge and experience about entrepreneurship and his leadership of L.I.F.E. align well with Ocean's mission," CEO Scott Weiss said.
OCEAN teaches, mentors, and invests in entrepreneurs to help them in their business and spiritual lives, through business skill training, events and speakers, and a community of like-minded business leaders and fellow entrepreneurs.
